This participation confirms Abu Dhabi Endowments’ commitment to supporting the UAE’s vision of consolidating its global leadership in sustainable charitable work based on endowments, and enhancing cooperation with international institutions to develop innovative financing models that support the circular economy, contribute to economic diversification, and create a long-term social impact.
The summit was organized as part of the World Conservation Congress of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, bringing together an elite group of global leaders in the fields of philanthropy, finance and environmental sustainability, to discuss ways to bridge the global financing gap estimated at $1.3 trillion in the field of biodiversity, and accelerate the transition towards sustainable and renewable economies.
As part of its participation during the summit, Abu Dhabi Endowments organized a dialogue session entitled “System Integration: The Role of Charitable Work in Developing and Sustaining the Circular Economy,” during which it discussed the pivotal role of charitable work in stimulating the shift towards a more sustainable future.

The session highlighted how endowment financing contributes to supporting innovation, financing emerging projects, and reinvesting the proceeds to achieve long-term social and environmental value.
The session was led by His Excellency Fahd Abdul Qadir Al Qasim, Director General of Abu Dhabi Endowments, who reviewed the authority’s experience in employing endowment capital in vital sectors such as health and education, creating a renewed development cycle based on tangible impact and measurable results.
Al-Qassim pointed out that participating in the IUCN Charitable Summit, alongside an elite group of change and impact makers, works to unify visions and create a tangible and sustainable impact.

He added: “We believe that cooperation is the way to build a world more focused on the principles of sustainability and humanity. This summit represents a global platform to reimagine the concept of giving, and how it can be transformed into a data-based model that links giving and good management, so that the endowment becomes a bridge between generosity and governance, and turns every contribution into a sustainable investment in the future of humanity.”
His Excellency also delivered the opening speech of an interactive dialogue session entitled “Multiplying Impact: Charitable Investment as a Force that Drives Sustainable Development,” where he stressed the importance of transforming charitable work from temporary contributions to a renewable endowment system capable of continuously multiplying economic and social value.
During his speech, he reviewed the “Abu Dhabi Endowments” model for managing endowment assets and transforming every contribution into a permanent financial base that enhances trust, encourages partnerships, and combines human passion and capital to achieve a long-term impact in vital sectors.
His Excellency added that the participation of “Abu Dhabi Endowments” in the summit confirms the Authority’s role in supporting the UAE’s vision towards sustainable and comprehensive growth, and by linking charitable work with innovation and long-term financial management, the Authority contributes to building giving systems that respond to the challenges of the present and continue to create value for future generations.
Abu Dhabi Endowments’ participation in the summit highlighted its growing role as a catalyst for sustainable financing and impact-based charitable work, and through its strategic cooperation with leading international institutions, the Authority continues to develop innovative endowment frameworks that contribute to achieving the country’s goals related to sustainability, and enhance the role of the endowment as a pillar of economic and social development.
Based on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, Abu Dhabi Endowments continues its journey in transforming the culture of giving into a sustainable financial system, based on transparency, accountability, and innovation, ensuring that every contribution remains a permanent source of value, empowering communities, and serving future generations.
