The Prime Minister follows up on the project to establish the western arc of the Major General Omar Suleiman axis in Alexandria

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, in a meeting held today, followed up on the implementation status of the project to establish the western arc of the Major General Omar Suleiman Corridor in Alexandria Governorate, in the presence of Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, Major General Mahmoud Nassar, Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, Major General Moamen Sayed Muhammad, Assistant Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces for Road Affairs, and Engineer Amr Abbas, Deputy Head of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority for Road Affairs. Regulation and market governance, and Engineer Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Executive Deputy for Projects Affairs at the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed interest in the road network surrounding Alexandria Airport being the “former Burj Al Arab” at the highest level; In the context of interest in airports as one of the elements of attracting tourism movement, indicating that the government is currently working to increase the number of tourists arriving from various target markets; Especially in important and attractive tourist attractions, most notably the New City of El Alamein, as well as Alexandria Governorate, which are directly served by the airport.
Counselor Mohamed Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting witnessed a review of the project components and work progress rates in the various implementation sectors, while discussing a number of challenges facing the work and ways to overcome them to complete the work, as the Prime Minister directed to intensify Equipment and labor at the project work sites, rapid coordination between the various parties to remove any obstacles, and setting a specific time for the completion of the work, with commitment to it by all responsible parties, so that this important traffic axis contributes to achieving the desired goals of accommodating movement and reducing traffic densities in Alexandria Governorate.
During the meeting, the Major General presented Mahmoud Nassar, head of the Central Reconstruction Agency, presented a report on the ongoing steps to implement the project, explaining that the construction of the western arc of the General Omar Suleiman Corridor (Ring Road) in Alexandria Governorate is taking place in three sectors, including the implementation of a 20 km road, which includes 6 traffic lanes in each direction, 4 overhead bridges, 2 bridges above the express train, 5 surface bridges, and a tunnel for cars, in addition to a number of other works.
