Zelensky: I will go to Washington this week to meet with Trump

The Ukrainian President announced Volodymyr Zelensky that he will go to Washington this week to meet his American counterpart Donald Trump and other officials in the energy and defense sectors.
He said in a press conference held in Kiev alongside European Union foreign policy chief Kaya Kallas: "I will meet with President Trump in Washington this week"
He added: "We need to discuss a series of actions that I would like to propose to the President"without revealing any details.
Meetings with American officials
He expressed Zelensky expressed his hope to meet Trump Friday, indicating that he will hold other meetings with American officials.
He also referred to meetings in the United States with representatives of military companies and members of Congress.
He explained that "The main issue will be air defence, and he will also meet representatives of companies in the energy sector".
In recent days, energy facilities in Ukraine have been subjected to new strikes, threatening to deprive many Ukrainians of electricity and heating as winter approaches.
Zelensky indicated in a post on Monday evening on the X platform, that a delegation includes senior Ukrainian officials, including Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko and Director Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustam Umarov, on their way to the United States.
Trump’s support for Ukraine
Zelensky expressed his gratitude to the American President, praising the ongoing dialogue with him and his support for Ukraine.
At the end of last week, the Ukrainian president made two telephone calls within two days with His American counterpart.
Zelensky said that he discussed in detail with Trump during these two calls "Ukraine’s capabilities to deliver long-range strikes"
The US President said on Sunday that he may warn his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, that Kiev could obtain Tomahawk missiles if Moscow does not end the war that broke out after the Russian attack on Ukraine in February 2022.
