Minister Plenipotentiary Maha Bakhit: Approval of Algeria’s proposal to prepare a draft Arab agreement for the protection of personal data
The Legal Affairs Department held the third meeting of the joint committee of experts and representatives of the Ministries of Justice and Interior and concerned authorities in Arab countries to study " Draft Arab Agreement for the Protection of Personal Data " At the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Maha Bakhit – Director of the Legal Affairs Department of the League of Arab States, said that this meeting comes in implementation of the decision issued by the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice regarding approving Algeria’s proposal to prepare a draft Arab agreement on the protection of personal data, and holding two meetings of the joint committee of experts and representatives of the ministries of justice and interior and concerned authorities to study the draft agreement.
This agreement aims to enhance cooperation between Arab countries in the field of personal data protection, During this meeting, the discussion of the articles of the draft Arab Convention for the Protection of Personal Data will be continued.
Experts and representatives of the Ministries of Justice and Interior and concerned authorities in Arab countries will participate in this meeting, and then the results of the meeting will be presented to the next session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which will be held during the month of November 2025.
