Launching the first Emirati team to participate in the Abu Dhabi Cricket League

Today, I announced the launch of the first Emirati-owned team to participate in the Abu Dhabi International Cricket League, called “Aspin Stallions,” in a step that is considered a new milestone in the Emirati sport’s journey towards internationalism, and an expression of the spirit of innovation and national pride.

The Abu Dhabi World Cricket League is the only global ten-inning cricket tournament, approved by the International Cricket Council, and is held annually at Zayed Cricket Stadium with the participation of an elite group of game stars from around the world, combining speed and excitement and presenting a unique model of modern sports entertainment.

Member of the Federal National Council and former Vice President of Emirates Airlines, Ahmed Khoury, held a press conference to announce the name of the new team, in the presence of the founder and president of the Abu Dhabi International Cricket League, the Indian Shaji, to announce all the details of this team and its future participation.

Ahmed Khoury said that this announcement comes in line with the UAE Vision 2031, which aims to consolidate the country’s position as a leading destination in various fields, and to prepare a team that embodies the UAE’s ambition to be a major player on the international sports scene, not just a participant in it.
