The Minister of Youth discusses with the Chairman of the Upper Egypt Development Authority mechanisms for implementing the cooperation protocol

Within the framework of the state’s support for integrated development efforts in the governorates of Upper Egypt, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, met with Major General Engineer Amr Abdel Moneim, Head of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to discuss steps to implement the cooperation protocol signed between the two sides.
The meeting discussed ways to develop and raise the efficiency of a number of youth and sports facilities in several governorates, including Among them are the Youth and Sports City in Demo in Fayoum Governorate, which is built on an area of 55 acres, and the Civic Education Center in Beni Suef Governorate on an area of 10 acres, which includes works to develop the public site, the residence hotel and restaurant, and the construction of an Olympic swimming pool.
It was also agreed to develop the Abu Ramad Youth Center in the Red Sea Governorate, in addition to developing girls’ and women’s clubs, which number about 500 clubs affiliated with the Ministry, within the framework of Empowering women and supporting their community participation.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, confirmed that the Ministry pays special attention to the governorates of Upper Egypt by developing youth facilities and transforming them into training and innovation centers aimed at building the capabilities of young people and developing their skills, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi towards achieving sustainable development in all governorates of Upper Egypt.
For his part, Major General Engineer Amr Abdel Moneim, Chairman of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, explained that the meeting comes within the framework of the Authority’s keenness to expand areas of cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the aim of providing integrated development services to the people of Upper Egypt, and enhancing the role of youth in supporting economic and social development efforts.
This came in the presence of Dr. Mazen Shaqwir, Advisor to the Chairman of the Authority for Government and Institutional Communication, and a number of the Ministry’s leaders.
