Cairo, October 15 / WAM / The Grand Egyptian Museum has temporarily closed its doors to visitors from today until November 3, in preparation for the official opening on November 1.

Egypt is preparing for a huge celebration on the first of November in which a number of world leaders will participate to accompany the opening of the largest museum containing antiquities of ancient Egyptian civilization, which includes more than 100,000 artifacts.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said today in a press conference, “There is almost daily monitoring of the preparations and our expectations are that this very large tourist and heritage edifice will contribute to maximizing revenues and increasing the flow of tourists to Egypt.”

He reported that the average number of daily visitors to the museum before its official opening and the opening of the most important hall, the Tutankhamun Hall, “exceeds the number of international museums.”
