"Proof Point"Protecting the human element is the basis of confronting cyber threats

Dubai, October 16 / WAM / Emile Abu Saleh, Vice President of Northern Europe, the Middle East, Turkey and Africa at Proof Point, stressed that protecting the human element is the basis of confronting cyber threats in the era of artificial intelligence.

Abu Saleh said in his statements during the GITEX 2025 exhibition that “Proof Point” focuses on protecting the human element, which is the point at which individuals, data and means of communication meet, and works to prevent advanced electronic attacks, reduce the risks of data leakage, and enhance user awareness through continuous training and smart automation. In light of the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence in the work environment, we seek to develop cybersecurity to keep pace with this progress and include Protecting individuals, smart systems, and the data they deal with.

He added that the cybersecurity landscape in the UAE and the region is developing very rapidly, and with the acceleration of digital transformation, attackers have become more innovative in their methods. Traditional attacks such as phishing and email fraud still exist, but they have become more targeted and accurate thanks to artificial intelligence.

He pointed out that the world is witnessing today the emergence of a new phase of work environments in which individuals rely on agentic intelligence systems (Agentic AI) that are capable of making decisions and carrying out tasks independently. He stressed that this development opens wide horizons for productivity and innovation, but in return it creates new challenges related to data governance and protection, as these systems can be affected by malicious entries or share sensitive information without He meant.

Abu Saleh pointed out that advanced technologies can stop the attack, but individuals are the ones who determine its outcome. Every message opened, file shared, or response sent may constitute an entry point for the attackers.
