The Hospitals and Educational Institutes Authority launches "Breast Cancer Awareness Week 2025"

The General Authority for Hospitals and Educational Institutes announced the organization of the activities of “Breast Cancer Awareness and Education Week 2025”, under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Abdel Ghaffar, Chairman of the Authority, during the period from 22 to 27 October, as part of the activities of the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month “Pink October”.
It aims to The initiative, which lasts for four days, aims to enhance integrated care for breast cancer patients, spread community awareness of the importance of early detection, in addition to developing the skills of medical personnel working in the Authority’s hospitals and institutes.

The Chairman of the Authority explained that the program of events includes scientific days and specialized workshops in a number of teaching hospitals, as the week begins on October 22 at the Matareya Teaching Hospital with the presentation of a comprehensive road map for the care of breast cancer patients and survivors: A Roadmap to Breast. On October 23, a specialized workshop for surgeons entitled Breast Surgery Workshop will be held at Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital to develop their skills in breast surgery, followed on October 26 by an applied workshop on the latest radiotherapy techniques at Al-Ahrar Teaching Hospital entitled Breast Radiotherapy. The activities will conclude on October 27 at the Matareya Teaching Hospital with the organization of a Patient Awareness Day, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and psychological and social support for those recovering from the disease.
