Dmitriev: Work on the idea of the tunnel between Russia and the United States began 6 months ago

The head of the Russian Fund for Direct Investments and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries, Kirill Dmitriev, confirmed that work on the idea of establishing a tunnel between Russia and the United States has been underway for 6 months.
Dmitriev wrote on the “X” platform: According to Russia Today: "We (the Russian Direct Investment Fund) began studying the feasibility of establishing a tunnel between Russia and Alaska 6 months ago".
In the meeting held yesterday between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Washington, a journalist asked the American President about this. The project, he replied that it was interesting.
The head of the National Center for Research on Transport and Infrastructure, Pavel Ivankin, also said that it was logical for the tunnel between Russia and the United States to be a joint road and railway tunnel.
Dmitriev had previously called for the construction of the tunnel from Russia to Alaska to connect the two countries, and suggested calling it the “Putin-Trump Tunnel.” In honor of the Russian and American presidents.
