"Fatwa" The crescent moon of the month of Jumada al-Awwal will be surveyed next Tuesday evening
The Egyptian Fatwa House will survey, after sunset on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, which is corresponding to the 29th of Rabi’ al-Akhir of the year 1447, the crescent of the month of Jumada al-Awwal.
The Astronomy Institute had revealed the details of the birth of the crescent of the month of Jumada al-Awwal of the year 1447 AH, as the crescent is born immediately after the conjunction occurs at exactly 2:26 p.m. local time. Cairo local on Tuesday 29 Rabi’ al-Akhir 1447 AH, corresponding to October 21, 2025, which is ”sighting day”.
It is noted that the new crescent will not have been born yet at sunset on that day (sighting day in both Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Jakarta In Indonesia).
The crescent will set 11 minutes before sunset on that “sighting day” in Mecca, in Cairo by 14 minutes, in the rest of the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt by periods ranging between “11 and 14 minutes,” and in Arab and Islamic capitals and cities by periods of time. It ranges between “3 and 19 minutes”.
Therefore, Wednesday 10/22/2025 AD is the completion of the month of Rabi` al-Akhir 1447 AH, and thus the beginning of the month of Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH astronomically falls on Thursday 10/23/2025 AD.
