"Al Ain Chess" Won the women’s general league title with full marks

Sharjah, October 20 / WAM / Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club won the Women’s General League Championship title for the year 2025, and Abu Dhabi Club came in second, Dubai third, and Sharjah fourth, at the conclusion of the competitions yesterday evening in the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club hall.

Al Ain achieved the full mark, benefiting from its back-and-forth victory over all the participating country clubs, to win the title with the full mark in an unprecedented achievement in the history of the competition, by defeating the clubs of Abu Dhabi 4-2, Al-Sharjah 6-0, and Dubai 5-1.

The Al Ain team’s roster included female players Wafia Darwish Al-Maamari, French international professor Cécile Hausernet, Wadima Al-Kalbani, Zainab Darwish Al-Maamari, Moza Nasser Al-Shamsi, Sheikha Abdullah Al-Muraikhi, Sheikha Nasser Al-Shamsi, international professor Mona Al-Harmoudi, Moza Al-Mansouri and Amal Fadel Al-Shamsi.

Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan, the club’s president, stressed that winning all the matches without any loss reflects the strength of the club’s system and the strategy of developing women’s talents and supporting them to raise the level of Emirati chess.

For his part, Hisham Al-Taher, Managing Director and CEO of the club, said that the achievement culminates the accumulated experiences and efforts made by the female players under the supervision of the technical management, and the result of the cooperation of the members of the Board of Directors with the executive work team, praising the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
