Sharjah Police dropped more than 7,000 traffic violations as part of the Executive Council’s decision

Within the framework of the Sharjah Government’s keenness to implement decisions that support societal stability, the Sharjah Police General Command continues to implement the decision of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah regarding dropping traffic violations, which stipulates that violations that are more than 10 years old are dropped.

The number of beneficiaries of the decision has reached 284 people so far, and more than 7,000 traffic violations have been dropped, in accordance with the controls and procedures specified in the decision, which also stipulates that a fee of 1,000 dirhams be paid for the drop request, with the exception of some humanitarian and special cases, such as: the death of the vehicle owner, or his leaving the country for a period of no less than 10 continuous years, or abandoned vehicles whose owner is impossible to reach, and those who apply can They must meet the conditions to benefit from the decision by visiting the traffic and licensing services centers.

The Sharjah Police General Command appealed to the public to adhere to traffic laws and avoid committing traffic violations. In order to preserve public safety and enhance traffic discipline, it also recalls the decision of the Executive Council regarding regulating the rates of exemption from violations, as the decision grants a 35% discount upon payment within 60 days from the date of the violation, and includes: the financial fine, the period of impoundment, and the vehicle impoundment allowance. It also grants a 25% discount after 60 days and before one year has passed from the date of the violation, and includes the financial fine only.
