The Arabic Language Academy enhances cooperation with the University "Jane J"
Sharjah, October 21 / WAM / The Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah today discussed with an academic delegation from the National Jinji University – Taipei, China, strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions and exchanging experiences in the field of linguistic research and language teaching. This came during a meeting with Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, and a number of members of the Academy with the delegation, where the guests were taken on a tour that included the various facilities of the Academy, including the Academy’s library, and they were shown about Historical dictionary of the Arabic language and ongoing research projects.
Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mosteghanemi said that the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, plays a pioneering role in serving the Arabic language and enhancing its presence. Scientific and cultural at the global level, indicating the association’s keenness to expand the horizons of international cooperation, pointing out that the visit represents an important step towards building bridges of knowledge between the Arab world and East Asia through language and culture. For his part, the head of the delegation, Professor Eric Chen – representative of the Taiwanese Commercial Office in the UAE, expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the association, noting the wealth of knowledge of the linguistic projects that he reviewed, and expressing the readiness of “Jinn University” “G” to launch educational and research partnerships with the academy, including the exchange of students and researchers and the organization of training programs to teach Arabic to speakers of other languages, in addition to cooperation in the field of modern linguistic techniques.
Dr. Yunus Cheng, Head of the Language Department at Jinji University, also expressed his admiration for the high level that the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah provides to non-Arab students within the framework of teaching Arabic to non-Arab speakers.
The delegation was briefed on the Academy’s efforts in serving the Arabic language, especially the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language Project, which is considered the most important and largest knowledge project completed in the history of the Arabic language.
The visit concluded with a discussion session that discussed ways to enhance future cooperation, in addition to exchanging shields and souvenirs and taking group photos.
