championship "Grand Somobot" In Fujairah, it will start on the 27th of this month

Fujairah, January 25 / WAM / The Fujairah Science Club announced that the third edition of the “Grand Sumobot” championship competitions will start on January 27 and continue for two days, with the participation of 22 teams of students from schools and educational institutions in the emirate.

During a press conference held yesterday evening, Dr. Saif Al-Maili, club director, stressed the importance of the tournament, which witnessed an increase in the number of participating teams compared to the previous edition, which contributes to achieving the strategic goals of the Fujairah Scientific Club in promoting the concept of technology in society.

He said that the club is implementing intensive training and rehabilitation programs for the teams in preparation for the start of the tournament, which will be held at the Fujairah Mall, pointing out that what distinguishes this edition is the application of the mechanism of live filming of the competitions using the mouse technology to monitor any violations or transgressions during the matches in order to ensure the quality of arbitration, transparency and credibility.

He pointed out that the club seeks, through the tournament, to select the best players to build their abilities, develop them, and participate in the Arab Robotics Association tournaments in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

It is worth noting that the “Somobot” game is a competition between two teams with a robot for each of them. Each robot tries to push the other out of the circular competition arena. This depends on the design of the robot and the way it is programmed. A set of different requirements are also taken into account to ensure equal opportunities, safety of the devices, and non-tampering with them.
