"Dubai rooms" Looking to develop economic relations with Serbia

Belgrade, 25 January / WAM / Dubai Chambers discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation with the Republic of Serbia, during the activities of a trade mission organized by the Chamber to the Serbian capital, Belgrade, with the aim of developing bilateral relations in a wide range of sectors of common interest.

The trade mission to Serbia was headed by His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, within the framework of the “Corridors of Growth” initiative, which aims to consolidate frameworks for trade and investment cooperation between Dubai and global markets and open new opportunities for economic partnerships.

His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri said that the growing cooperation relations between Dubai and Serbia reflect the joint commitment to building new horizons for trade and investment exchange, and that the visit is an opportunity to enhance dialogue between the two business communities and explore ways to develop strategic partnerships that support common economic goals and contribute to creating quality opportunities and developing vital sectors, in line with Dubai Chambers’ ongoing efforts to enhance international cooperation and consolidate constructive partnerships with global markets.

During the visit, the delegation held a series of meetings and roundtable discussions to discuss the prospects for enhancing cooperation with a number of Serbian entities and institutions, which included a meeting with the Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia in the presence of Her Excellency Jagoda Lazarevic, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade, during which the two sides discussed the prospects of pushing bilateral investment and trade ties to broader and more diversified paths in light of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Serbia, with a focus on a number of priority sectors, including food and agriculture, Tourism, renewable energy, and logistics services. Ways of cooperation in the field of attracting technical competencies were also discussed.

During the meeting, the Chamber delegation extended an invitation to Serbian companies to participate in specialized trade exhibitions hosted by Dubai.

The delegation of the Dubai Chambers delegation held a roundtable discussion with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the participation of 7 of the most prominent entrepreneurs in the field of business technology in this country, during which the objectives of Dubai’s annual plan to accelerate the adoption of uses and applications of artificial intelligence were reviewed, in addition to the role of the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy in supporting the expansion of Serbian digital companies to Dubai and benefiting from the promising opportunities in the advanced technological business system that the emirate enjoys.

During the mission’s activities, a roundtable discussion was organized with the Belgrade Science and Technology Park, which supports emerging companies to transform innovations into commercial projects and products, and the Innovation Fund in the Republic of Serbia, which provides grants and financing programs to support innovation, applied research, and innovative technological projects.

The meeting witnessed the discussion of promising joint opportunities in the fields of innovation and advanced technologies between Dubai and Serbia, especially in the sectors of health technology, electronic games, biotechnology, and blockchain technologies, in addition to enhancing cooperation between emerging companies and working to develop entrepreneurship ecosystems.

During the meeting, the opportunities that Dubai offers for the expansion of Serbian e-commerce companies in the region were highlighted, in light of the emirate’s role as a regional center for storage and distribution thanks to its advanced infrastructure in the field of logistics services and supply chains.

During the visit, the Chamber delegation also met with the Serbian Development Agency, the government agency concerned with supporting and attracting direct investment, promoting exports, and enhancing competitiveness and development. The two sides discussed enhancing the movement of intra- and joint investments between Dubai and Serbia.

During the mission’s activities, Dubai Chambers reviewed the support it provides to Serbian companies wishing to establish their businesses in the emirate and expand from there to regional and global markets, especially in light of the promising opportunities offered by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Serbia, which entered into force in May 2025.

The discussions also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between companies in Dubai and Serbia across various sectors including technology, innovation, real estate, trade, and financial services.

It is noteworthy that the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Serbia reached 335.8 million dirhams in the year 2024, with an annual growth of 43.5% compared to the year 2023. The number of Serbian companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce also increased. As 109 Serbian companies joined the Chamber’s membership in 2025; This brings the number of active Serbian companies registered as members of the Chamber to 308 companies by the end of 2025, with a growth of 36.9% on an annual basis.
