المملكة: Experts and decision makers from 30 countries will discuss the sustainability of fisheries tomorrow in Riyadh

Under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour bin Hilal Al Mushaiti, the fifth international exhibition will begin tomorrow, Monday, January 26 For Fisheries (SIMEC), at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, and continues for three days until Wednesday, January 28.
The exhibition aims to showcase the latest technologies and innovations in the fields of aquaculture, fisheries, feed, algae, seafood processing, shipbuilding, and port services, in addition to highlighting promising investment opportunities and enhancing cooperation between local and international investors.
It is "SIMEC" A leading international platform that brings together experts, decision-makers, and stakeholders in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, with the participation of more than 30 countries and more than 120 local and international companies and organizations, with the expected presence of about 3,500 local businessmen, 450 international businessmen, and more than 15,000 visitors, in addition to 15 government agencies and 5 international pavilions. It will witness the signing of 15 cooperation agreements, which reflects the growing status of the exhibition at the regional and global levels.
Fish Resources
The exhibition embodies the Kingdom’s leading role in hosting specialized international events, providing a global platform to meet international partners, reviewing modern solutions in the fishery products industry, building strategic partnerships that contribute to developing investment opportunities, and discussing challenges related to food security and the sustainability of the fisheries sector, while allowing direct communication with decision-makers in the Kingdom.
Participating countries include: Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman. The UAE, Iraq, Syria, Morocco, Russia, Egypt, Norway, Somalia, Mauritania, and the Maldives, in addition to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The exhibition contributes to supporting the Kingdom’s exports of fishery products, and enhancing opportunities for trade and marine industries, through signing strategic agreements, organizing specialized workshops, holding cooking competitions, and various accompanying events.
Supporting aquaculture projects
It includes The accompanying program includes a number of specialized workshops, most notably foundational studies to support aquaculture projects in inland waters, a modern seafood auction hall system, technical follow-up of aquaculture projects as a pillar of industry sustainability, smart planning for sustainable aquaculture, the use of closed floating ponds, rearing in semi-closed environments, and modern technologies in closed systems, in addition to workshops on certificates of best aquaculture practices, the ecosystem approach to fisheries management, and modern technology in aquaculture.
And in conclusion. At the exhibition, workshops will be held covering national quality marks, the aquaculture development program from scientific research to commercial innovation, fish farming systems between theory and practice, algae biotechnology, and smart manufacturing of seafood, in addition to modern techniques in organic waste management to enhance agricultural production.
