Guterres: We will not be able to contain global warming

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, it is now clear that efforts to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels will fail in the short term.

Guterres told the United Nations World Meteorological Organization in Geneva: "One thing is clear, we won’t be able to fit Global warming is expected to remain below 1.5 degrees in the next few years"stressing that "Exceeding this limit has become inevitable".
