The American President said Donald Trump His talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin on ending the war in Ukraine is good, but it remains futile in the end.
He said Trump told reporters at the White House when he received NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday: "Every time I talk to Vladimir, I have good conversations, but in the end they remain fruitless as they do not lead to any breakthrough."
Sanctions will be lifted soon

Trump said that his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, whom he will meet next week in South Korea, could have a great influence on Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
He added: "I think he could have a big influence on Putin"
He continued: "I believe he can have a great influence, and we will certainly discuss the Russia-Ukraine issue at the meeting scheduled on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in South Korea.".
