المملكة: Urgent: Education prohibits 8 punitive practices in schools, most notably physical abuse and expulsion

Punishment: Confronting behavioral problems

The Ministry of Education stated in the same rules that the violating student will not be exempted from regular procedures if he commits a behavioral problem, even if the private right is waived before other competent authorities, indicating that the aim of this is to achieve educational justice and establish a culture of responsibility among students.

The Ministry stated that the assessment of the final grade for behavior is based on the recommendation of the school’s student guidance committee, provided that it does not exceed six grades, to ensure transparency. And fairness in evaluation, and for the grade to reflect the student’s true behavior within the school.

It also stressed the importance of continuous coordination between the school’s dean and those in charge of student activities to direct students towards distinguished activities that develop their abilities and contribute to the development of their personalities and positive behaviors.

The Ministry stressed that these rules come within a comprehensive system that aims to raise the quality of The educational environment and ensuring the discipline of the educational process in general education schools, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in building a generation that is aware and adheres to moral and educational values, capable of contributing to building the future of the nation.
