Madbouly: Without infrastructure projects, the economic zone would not have attracted $11 billion in investments

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the Egyptian state is investing and spending hundreds of billions on its infrastructure, as it is the investment-attracting element that provides the opportunity to establish factories and production projects in the country. Without these projects in the infrastructure, the economic zone today would not have been able to attract direct foreign investment worth up to $11 billion in more than 340 industrial and logistical projects like this giant project in which we are located. Now.
This came in Dr. Mostafa Madbouly’s statements after the end of his visit today to the Suez Governorate to inspect and inaugurate a number of development and service projects.
The Prime Minister indicated that these projects provide more than 80 thousand job opportunities and this number is increasing, pointing to a conversation he had with the head of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, who confirmed that it was about 3 and a half years ago. The total number of factories in the economic zone was 43 factories, which represents the harvest of previous periods, but today there are about 180 factories, in addition to 120 other factories currently being built, in addition to the requests that are still being submitted to establish other factories.
He explained that the region has become very in demand from all investors, whether global or national foreign investment, to establish factories and development projects here on the land. This region and the precious spot in Egypt, which we have always dreamed of, would become a global logistics region that attracts major investments.
The Prime Minister said, “Without what was done in developing the ports, such as the port of Sokhna, and I do not want to talk in detail about how the lengths of the berths were then, and now how the lengths of these berths have become, this matter cost us tens of billions. Yes, it cost us that, and how large was the size of our road network, And the volume of water, sewage, electricity, and gas, and how much was required to raise the efficiency of this region and attract the investments that we are talking about today, that we are reaping their fruits. This is state building, and this is how countries are established, and this is the way of development, and without this huge spending on infrastructure, we would not have attracted international groups and companies to come, struggle, and race to establish their factory here.”
He added, Therefore, when we all see what is happening here every day in terms of the opening of factories and new foreign partners, not only for the sake of attracting investments, although that is a goal in itself that countries are competing for, but when we see the type of industries that exist, and industries that we used to import and pay hard currency for, today they exist in Egypt, and instead of importing them in dollars and producing them by a worker in another country, the Egyptian worker has a job opportunity available, and he has become one of the It produces this commodity, which costs the state in Egyptian pounds. All of these things are an integrated system that takes place today in the land of Egypt.”
He continued, “When we talk about an advanced train network in order to connect private ports to each other and become part of the goods transport system, the first of which is the electrified high-speed train network, which begins in its first phase from here in the port of Sokhna all the way to Matrouh and our western borders, All of this came within the framework of an integrated vision for the advancement of this country through these projects. This is what we are talking about. Providing job opportunities and the growth of the economy occurs in this way, and without these investments made by the state, this would not have been achieved, and today we would not have targets for growth of 5, 6, 7 and 8% during the coming period, God willing. In addition, the state has not forgotten the social dimension, and we are working to move towards it through education and health, but again, I stress that we As a state, if we did not save and develop our resources through these projects and achieve an increase in production and economic growth, we would not be able to spend on health and education. Without that, the state does not have resources to spend on the social services that we are supposed to spend on, and the return from which is only a social return, which is a very important thing for the Egyptian citizen.”
The Prime Minister had begun his statements by saying: “I welcome Welcome to the conclusion of a long field tour in the Suez Governorate. He said, “Then we moved to visit the Women’s and Children’s Health Hospital, and here I would like to ask all citizens to see the quality of the hospital that was opened within the comprehensive health insurance system that entered into operation a full year ago, and we will see the extent of the progress of medical services provided to the Egyptian citizen in the Suez Governorate, which is part of the very large system that the state adopts today.” To implement the comprehensive health insurance system nationwide, and thank God, in all governorates that have entered the system, the citizen receives the highest level of service at a completely nominal cost.” He added: Our goal is to accelerate the pace of the second, third, and fourth phases of this wonderful system that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi adopted, and announced as a goal for every Egyptian citizen to enjoy the highest quality of health services, indicating that we still have a long way to go to implement this system at the level of other governorates, but the state is determined to accelerate the pace in order to implement it in every region. Egypt". It is witnessing development in pre-university education.
He continued, “We concluded the visit to Suez Governorate by visiting Suez National University, which opened its doors for the first time this year, where it received 1,600 new students who had previously enrolled in the theoretical and traditional colleges that existed in Egyptian universities. I was keen to conduct a dialogue with some of the students in order to ask them about the reason for their enrollment in these universities, and the answer was that These universities offer modern programs that anticipate future sciences, and they also offer a product that is not found in traditional universities.” Including, the private sector was also enabled to establish other universities.”
He added: “This is in response to what is always raised regarding health and education, stressing that the state attaches very great importance to these two files and is moving in them at a very large pace, which requires huge investments, but the state believes that these investments will reap their fruits in the long term through our graduates who get the best Education programmes.”
The Prime Minister also indicated that the second part of the visit was to the Suez Canal Economic Zone, stressing his keenness to visit the economic zone every period of time, with the aim that all Egyptians know that this zone had a plan, and in accordance with the vision of the political leadership for it and its follow-up and insistence on implementing this vision, and it is not just a vision or an imaginary plan, adding that today we are reaping the fruits of all the various and comprehensive development works that have taken place in the region. He added, “Everyone has been talking for decades about when the Suez Canal will be used as a hub and shipping lane, and whether the return from the Suez Canal is only ship transit fees, and that this region should be a major development area that attracts thousands of job opportunities and will be the future of Egypt.”
Madbouly pointed out that today, in every visit he makes to this region, he feels happy with what he sees of Achievements have been achieved on the ground in accordance with the political vision of the President of the Republic, pointing to the speech of Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of DP World Group, which includes that what has been accomplished in the infrastructure in Egypt during the last ten years has not happened during the previous fifty years.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly concluded his speech by offering greetings and appreciation to all workers in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, stressing His constant keenness to be present continuously at every period of time to celebrate with all the Egyptian people the opening of more factories and production projects, which are no longer only in the economic zone but in all governorates of Egypt, as well as his continuous follow-up with Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, and officials, regarding the volume of growth, demand and demand for industrial zones and factories in all governorates in Egypt, which are witnessing a great demand. Very much, and all of these achievements would not have been achieved without the infrastructure that the state expanded during the past period.
