"It is managed by a holder of an industrial diploma"..Health closes a dermatology and beauty center in Sharqia

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the closure of the “Moon Face Skin” center. Dermatology and Skin Aesthetics, located in the city of Minya al-Qamh in Sharkia Governorate, in order to operate it without a license, in clear violation of the Law Regulating Medical Facilities No. 153 of 2004.

The closure comes in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to intensify oversight of medical facilities and private clinics; To ensure the provision of safe health services that conform to standards, and to protect the health and safety of citizens.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry, explained that the Free Treatment Administration in Sharkia Governorate carried out a traffic campaign in cooperation with the Egyptian Medicine Authority and the Supply Investigations.

It turned out that the center is run by a woman who holds a technician’s diploma and is impersonating a human doctor, in violation of the provisions of the Non-Governmental Medical Facilities Law. No. 51 of 1981 (amended by Law No. 153 of 2004). It also does not contract with a specialized company for the safe disposal of medical waste, which poses a threat to public health.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Baili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sharqia, reported that quantities of medicines, nutritional supplements, and medical supplies of unknown origin and without invoices were seized, prepared for sale without a license to practice the pharmacy profession, and a skin tag removal device was also found. And a skin cleaning device, which are two devices that are only permitted to be used by a qualified human physician.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Baili confirmed that immediate legal measures were taken, including waxing the facility with red wax. A misdemeanor report was issued at the Minya Al-Qamh Police Station. The responsible person was also presented to the Public Prosecution.
