Germany records 31 cases of bird flu on farms and 131 among wild birds

The German Friedrich-Loeffler Institute (FLI), which specializes in animal health research, announced that more than 31 outbreak cases had been recorded Avian influenza in poultry farms at the Germany, in addition to 131 cases of infection among Wild birds, since the beginning of last September.
The institute confirmed that the outbreaks were distributed in poultry farms in Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg, Thuringia, Schleswig-Holstein, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
It reported that more than half a million cases had been infected. These included chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys, and 34 cases of wild birds were recorded since the outbreaks.
