After a rich tour…the Film Criticism Conference reaches its final stop in Riyadh
Employs Film Commission during the period from 7 to 9 November 2025 at the Palace of Culture in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh, the final stop of The International Film Criticism Conference in its third edition, under the slogan "Cinema…the art of place"This was after its tour that included a number of cities in the Kingdom from Abha to Qatif, as part of the Commission’s efforts to enrich the critical scene and promote cinematic dialogue in the Kingdom.
The conference, in its third edition, focuses on the relationship between cinema and place, as one of the most important elements of visual narrative and cultural identity in the cinematic experience, in continuation of the success achieved by its previous two stations.
A diverse cultural program
The conference continues for 3 days, including a diverse cultural program that includes dialogue sessions. Presentations, workshops (master classes), and film screenings, with the participation of an elite group of critics and filmmakers from inside and outside the Kingdom.
This aims to explore the presence of place in cinema as a visual and cultural space that reflects identity, memory, and social transformations.
This event comes within the framework of the Film Commission’s vision to support film criticism in the Kingdom through scientific and interactive forums that bring together critics and filmmakers, which contributes to developing critical analysis tools, enhancing a deep understanding of films, and contributing to the development of films. The Saudi film industry through a renewed intellectual and visual dialogue.
