Saud bin Saqr witnesses the signing of an agreement between… "Ras Al Khaimah Ports" and"Jianhua" Chinese to establish a factory for concrete columns

Ras Al Khaimah, 30 October / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, witnessed today, in his palace in Saqr Bin Mohammed City, the signing of an agreement between “Ras Al Khaimah Ports” and the Chinese “Jianhua Holding Group” in Guangdong Province, to establish a concrete columns factory in the free zone of Ras Al Khaimah Maritime City in partnership with BHC Technologies.
His Highness stressed that the agreement contributes to strengthening the strong cooperation and partnership relations that bring Ras Al Khaimah together with the Chinese provinces and cities, and consolidates its position as a leading commercial and industrial center in the region, noting that this partnership reflects the optimal benefit from Chinese expertise, and from the advanced investment and industrial environment provided by the UAE, in keeping with future development ambitions.
His Highness said: In Ras Al Khaimah, we continue to consolidate our development journey by concluding qualitative partnerships that contribute to creating new opportunities, enhancing knowledge exchange, and driving sustainable industrial growth for mutual benefit.
His Highness added: We believe that this step represents a new stage in the path of partnership between Ras Al Khaimah and Guangdong Province, and an extension of the agreement signed last year, which included the sectors of transportation, education and scientific research, health and medical sciences, arts and culture, industry, and others, which contributed to expanding areas of mutual cooperation and opening broader horizons for development and investment.
Under the agreement, signed by Roy Cummins, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Ports, and Guo Qiang, General Manager of Jianhua Company operating in the Ras Al Khaimah Maritime City Free Zone, the first factory in the region to produce prestressed high-strength concrete columns (PHC) will be established in the Ras Al Khaimah Maritime City Free Zone. The new facility, established in partnership with PHC Technologies, will produce and export high-performance concrete columns to meet the growing demand for solutions. Sustainable foundations in the region and the world.
The new project represents a major milestone in the industrial growth strategy of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, benefiting from the development work witnessed by the new port project of Ras Al Khaimah Ports, which aims to enhance the emirate’s export capabilities for heavy and large industrial products. The facility will benefit from the deep berths of Saqr Port 2.0, which provide direct access to the waterfront and an integrated logistics infrastructure that meets the needs of regional and international markets with high efficiency.
The volume of investment in the project amounts to 120 million dirhams, and it extends over an area of ​​540 thousand square feet within the free zone lands, with the supply of up to one million metric tons of raw materials from neighboring companies. The project is also expected to provide about 500 new job opportunities in Ras Al Khaimah, and to achieve annual revenues exceeding 20 million dirhams for Ras Al Khaimah ports.
Ras Al Khaimah’s integrated industrial environment, with its cement and concrete factories and deep ports, is an ideal center for the manufacture of ready-mixed concrete products and building materials, and this partnership strengthens the emirate’s position as a preferred destination for advanced manufacturing and sustainable infrastructure development.
The cooperation agreement between Ras Al Khaimah and the Chinese province of Guangdong last year includes a wide range of vital sectors that enhance the exchange of experiences and open new horizons for joint development, most notably the transportation sector, which is witnessing cooperation in the fields of flying vehicles, autonomous driving, and hydrogen-based transportation, the education and scientific research sector, which includes programs for academic and research exchange between universities and educational institutions, the health and medical sciences sector, which focuses on genetic research and advanced medical technologies, in addition to the arts, culture, antiquities, and cultural heritage sectors, which include joint projects in exhibitions and studies. Archaeological and cultural heritage preservation, in addition to the industrial and manufacturing sector, which is witnessing qualitative cooperation in establishing modern factories and developing industrial infrastructure.
