Mohammed bin Rashid Library launches its publishing and translation arm to enhance Arabic content

Dubai, 30th October / WAM / The Mohammed bin Rashid Library today announced the launch of its institutional arm for publishing and translation from various international languages ​​into the Arabic language, in a project aimed at enhancing Arabic content and expanding the horizons of knowledge. The launch of the project came during the opening of the second session of the Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit, which is held under the slogan “Creating the Future of Publishing” and continues until the first of next November.

Dr. Muhammad Salem Al Mazrouei, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, explained that the project represents a comprehensive cultural vision that seeks to build a knowledge bridge between global culture and the Arabic language, with a focus on the quality and accuracy of the content, indicating that the goal is not limited to translating books only, but extends to enriching Arab dialogue and enabling the reader to access the best international publications in various fields of knowledge. Al Mazrouei added that the initiative is based on professional standards and approved scientific evidence in the field of publishing and translation to ensure the quality of publications and their consistency with international best practices, thus enhancing the position of the UAE and the Emirate of Dubai as a leading center of knowledge and creativity, and a major supporter of the national cultural and intellectual movement.

For his part, Jamal Al Shehhi, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, confirmed that the specialized team adopted precise criteria in selecting the first releases to keep pace with local and global issues, noting that the project faced challenges in translation and design, and they were overcome through the efforts of a team of specialists and experts.

The library launched nine publications translated into Arabic that address contemporary topics in the fields of environment, space, health, humanities, and climate change, including “Narratives of Artificial Intelligence,” “Children’s Health and the Climate Change Dilemma,” “Fading Starlight,” “The Clouds,” and “In the Circle of Ancient Trees,” in addition to the picture book “Global,” directed at young people about climate and environmental justice. The project is a qualitative step towards consolidating the role of the library as an effective institution in producing and disseminating knowledge, and enhancing its presence in the Arab and international cultural scene.
