The Media Center of the Ministry of Local Development issued the weekly infographic in its 160th edition on the most prominent activities and events of the Ministry, led by Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, which included a group of events, meetings, and follow-up of important development projects during the period from 24 to 30 October 2025.

Friday, October 24

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, received a report from the Ministry’s General Administration of Internal Audit and Governance on the results of the field visit carried out by a team from the administration on a number of technology centers in Qena Governorate, namely the center and city of Dashna, Nag Hammadi, Al-Waqf, Farshout, Qus, Aboucht, Naqada, Qena, and Qift, in addition to a mobile technology center to provide services during the month of October. 2025. Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, also announced the removal of a number of illegal floors that were built without a license in a number of properties in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Cairo Governorate, after they were spotted by a surprise campaign by the Ministry’s inspection, control and follow-up sector in the neighborhood to follow up on the services provided to citizens in the technology center.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment, and Mr. Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, visited the New Valley Governorate to inspect and inaugurate a number of development and service projects in the governorate. The activities of the visit included the following:

• Launching the fourth phase of the presidential initiative to plant one hundred million trees

• Check out the Government Departments Complex for Smart Services in Kharga

• Inspect the seed screening and preparation station and the central economic unit for heavy equipment in Kharga

• Opening of the activities of the second session of the New Valley Agricultural Exhibition, Egy Agri

• Attending the Land of Goodness celebration

• Check out the animal production project and the New Valley Dates Complex

 

Sunday, October 26

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, announced the launch of the activities of the twelfth training week of the training plan for the Local Development Center in Saqqara for the year 2025/2026, which will be held during the period from 26 to 29 October 2025, and includes the implementation of four specialized training programs with the participation of 135 trainees from various governorates.

Dr. Manal Awad was also accompanied by Dr. Manal Awad. The Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of the Environment, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, during his visit to a number of various development and service projects in the Suez Governorate, within the framework of continuous field tours to follow up on the progress of work and the completion rates of ongoing projects in the governorates. Monday, October 27

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of the Environment, received a delegation from the Independent Evaluation Committee of the World Bank Group, headed by Ms. Birgit Hansel, Director of Country Programs and the Group’s Economic Management Unit. The delegation included Ms. Rashmi Shankar, Chief Economist, to discuss the results of the local development program in Upper Egypt, efforts to create job opportunities, and a vision for the next stage.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister, participated. The Minister of Environment in the meeting held by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to follow up on a number of investment projects being implemented in Port Said Governorate, in the presence of Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said.

The Minister also participated in the meeting held by the Prime Minister to follow up on a number of joint files between the Ministries of Local Development and Finance, in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Kjouk, Minister of Finance, and a number of ministry officials.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment, received a high-level delegation from the Chinese province of Sichuan, headed by Ms. Tian Xiangli, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Committee, and Mr. Ma Pu, Secretary-General of the Committee, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to discuss enhancing areas of joint cooperation between the two sides in the areas of local administration, environment, investment, and training, in the presence of a number of leaders from the Ministry and the province and the Vice President of the Businessmen Association. Chinese Egyptians in Cairo.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, also participated in the inauguration by Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly of the project to develop the Ataba Market in central Cairo after the completion of its development and rehabilitation work, in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, noting that the cost of the first phase of the project amounted to about fifty million pounds, in addition to the cost of facilities work, with funding from the Ministry of Local Development, expressing her appreciation for the support provided by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, Habitat. And the efforts of Cairo Governorate in completing the project.

The Minister also participated in the sixty-fourth meeting of the Council of Ministers, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, at the Council’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, where a number of topics and work files were discussed and reviewed.

 

 

Wednesday, October 29

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, approved the annual movement of local administration leaders in the various governorates of the Republic, which included 164 local leadership, noting that the movement included the transfer and appointment of five general secretaries, ten assistant general secretaries, and 134 heads of centers, cities, and districts in the governorates, and the termination of the service of fifteen leaders, including eleven leaders with final exit, and four leaders by transferring them to administrative positions in general offices. Governorates.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of the Environment, witnessed the signing ceremony of a contract to provide and provide services for collecting and transporting municipal solid waste from residential and commercial units, street sweeping, and public facilities for the neighborhoods of Port Said Governorate, East, Arab, Manakh, Suburbs, Flowers, West, South, and the city of Port Fouad, for a period of ten years between Port Said Governorate and Nahdet Misr Company for Modern Environmental Services, and the company is scheduled to officially begin its work in the governorate as of January 1. 2026.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, also participated in the second meeting of the National Council for Health Tourism, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, to follow up on the steps to implement the state strategy to advance the health tourism file in Egypt.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, held a meeting with tourism investor Mounir Ghabbour at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
