Health care: Providing 9.5 million medical and therapeutic services in outpatient clinics in the Medical Corps facilities

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, announced that outpatient clinics in the Authority’s hospitals in the governorates of the first phase of the comprehensive health insurance system provided more than 9 million medical and therapeutic services in the governorates of: Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Suez, and Aswan, since the start of the system’s operation in each governorate, indicating that this number reflects the strength of the operating system and the efficiency of health services provided at various levels. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki explained that the outpatient clinic system represents a key link in the smart referral system between family medicine centers and units, medical complexes, and hospitals, as the authority’s medical complexes and hospitals include 804 outpatient clinics within 43 medical complexes and hospitals in the six governorates, operating within an integrated system that relies on digital transformation in managing appointments, coordinating medical referrals, and facilitating the patient’s journey from diagnosis to treatment and recovery.
He added that these clinics are working. According to a unified operating system that guarantees continuity of service and quality performance at all stages of care, in order to achieve the concept of integration between primary, secondary and tertiary care within the comprehensive health insurance system.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Subki indicated that outpatient clinics provide integrated specialized services in more than 20 medical specialties, including general internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, heart, children, gynecology and obstetrics, nose and ear, dermatology, urinary tract, eyes, chest, endocrinology, kidneys, neurology, medicine. Psychiatry, physical therapy, dentistry, in addition to subspecialties such as oncology, rehabilitation, endocrinology, cosmetics, and blood vessels.
He stressed that this diversity in specializations guarantees the Egyptian citizen access to comprehensive medical service in a modern therapeutic environment, in accordance with the highest standards of quality and health safety.
The head of the authority explained that the increase in citizens’ frequency of outpatient clinics by 16% during the current year compared to last year, reflects the growing confidence in the efficiency of the system of medical services provided through the authority, noting that the availability rates and speed of response to booking appointments during the period have improved. Only 48 hours confirms the success of continuous improvement efforts in managing medical services and facilitating citizens’ access to specialized care.
He stressed that the authority works according to precise performance indicators that ensure operational sustainability and raise the level of services to meet citizens’ health needs.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki added that the electronic referral system between family medicine and medical complexes or hospitals, in addition to the application of a unified medical file for each beneficiary, constituted a qualitative shift in the method of providing health services within the health insurance system. Comprehensive, as it has become possible to track the patient’s journey electronically and analyze his medical data comprehensively, in a way that achieves integration between different levels of care and enhances the quality of medical decisions and speed of response.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki concluded his statement by noting that the General Authority for Health Care is preparing to launch an integrated model for specialized outpatient clinic complexes in a number of governorates, to provide an integrated health experience that includes various specialties in one place, with full integration of artificial intelligence techniques and digital analysis of medical data into service management, in a way that enhances operating efficiency and speeds up access to quality service. He stressed that these steps represent a practical translation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision of achieving comprehensive health justice and building an integrated national health system capable of providing advanced and sustainable services to all citizens.
