"ADNOC" and"source" and"XRG" and"Microsoft" A strategic partnership is concluded to enhance integration between the energy and artificial intelligence sectors

This announcement came during the “ENACT” (Activating Action) Council, which was held in Abu Dhabi before the launch of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference “ADIPEC 2025”.
Based on the established partnership between ADNOC and Microsoft, this agreement enables Masdar and XRG to develop sustainable energy projects and infrastructure to support Microsoft’s global expansion in the field of artificial intelligence and data centers.
Under the agreement, ADNOC and Microsoft will cooperate in developing “artificial intelligence agents” and deploying their use to enhance the autonomy of operations and raise their efficiency, based on ADNOC’s success in spreading the use of artificial intelligence solutions across the value chain of its business.
Microsoft will also provide advanced artificial intelligence tools and programs to build and develop human resources skills, while the two companies will explore a joint innovation system with the aim of finding solutions that achieve a qualitative shift in the energy sector.
On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masdar, Executive Chairman of XRG, said: In line with the vision and directives of the wise leadership, we are keen to play a pioneering role in the efforts aimed at implementing a qualitative shift in the energy sector by taking advantage of advanced technology, especially artificial intelligence, which continues to reformulate the mechanisms of creating and enhancing value in various sectors. Within these efforts, ADNOC and Masdar are working “XRG” is working to integrate artificial intelligence tools across the various stages and areas of its business, and is also working to develop energy systems that will support the operation of artificial intelligence solutions and data centers. Through our partnership and cooperation with “Microsoft,” we open new horizons to support the future of artificial intelligence, enhance performance, and ensure that our business keeps pace with the future.
It is worth noting that ADNOC was the first energy company to use Microsoft’s artificial intelligence assistant “Copilot” across the company’s business in November 2023. Since then, more than 40,000 of the company’s employees have been trained and have used it at rates exceeding 90%, which has contributed to achieving productivity savings exceeding 70,000 hours per month.
For his part, Brad Smith, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of Microsoft, said: No company or sector alone can meet the requirements of this stage, and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable, secure and inclusive future in the energy sector requires close cooperation between governments, energy suppliers, technology companies and innovators everywhere.
This cooperation contributes to consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for innovation in the energy sector, as it combines ADNOC’s leadership in the sector, Microsoft’s digital expertise, and the capabilities of Masdar and XRG in the field of clean energy, to achieve tangible and responsible progress in the current stage that focuses on artificial intelligence.
The partnership agreement is based on the “Enhancing Potential 2025” report issued by ADNOC and Microsoft, which included a survey of the opinions of more than 850 global experts to explore ways to enhance the use of artificial intelligence to achieve a qualitative shift in the energy sector.
