President Sisi praises the support provided by Hungary to Egyptian positions within the European Union institutions

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi praised the support provided by Hungary, under the leadership of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, for Egyptian positions within the European Union institutions.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated that President Sisi welcomed the Hungarian Prime Minister and his participation in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, praising the growing momentum witnessed in bilateral relations between the two countries in recent years, especially since the relations between the two countries were raised to the level of a strategic partnership in February 2023. For his part, the Hungarian Prime Minister expressed his deep appreciation The President, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries, and expressing his happiness at visiting Egypt for the second time in less than a month, where he participated in the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit held on October 13, 2025, stressing his government’s keenness to continue strengthening cooperation with Egypt in various fields, and his country’s aspiration to receive Mr. President on an official visit to Hungary during the year 2026.
The official spokesman, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, added that the meeting witnessed a mutual affirmation of The importance of Egyptian-European relations, especially in light of the recent holding of the first Egyptian-European summit in Brussels, where the President praised the remarkable development in the level of economic cooperation and political coordination between Egypt and the European Union countries, noting that there is a great consensus in visions and positions towards many regional and international issues of common interest, most notably the situation in the Gaza Strip and ways to implement the agreement to stop the war, efforts to settle the Sudanese crisis, combating illegal immigration, and other vital files. In this regard, the Hungarian Prime Minister stressed his country’s appreciation for the Egyptian efforts in combating illegal immigration, as well as Egypt’s pivotal role in consolidating peace and stability in the Middle East and Africa, and its hosting of about ten million refugees and displaced persons from conflict areas.
The official spokesman added that the meeting also dealt with developments in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, as the Hungarian Prime Minister reviewed his vision regarding the efforts made to reach a peaceful settlement that ends the conflict.
