The Kremlin: We are interested in a peaceful settlement of the crisis between Venezuela and the United States

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday that Russia is interested in ensuring that the situation between Venezuela and the United States remains peaceful.

Peskov added, in statements reported by the TASS news agency; Russian: “Of course, we want everything to remain peaceful, and we do not want any new conflicts to arise in the region. The world is already full of conflicts. We do not need new conflicts.”

These statements came as a comment on a report published by the “Washington Post” newspaper. The American newspaper reported that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro sent a request to Russian President Vladimir Putin to provide him with missiles, radars, and aircraft against the backdrop of American threats to his country.

The Venezuelan president has repeatedly stated that his country faces the most serious threat of American invasion in 100 years, while Washington accuses the Venezuelan authorities of not making sufficient efforts to combat drug trafficking, and for this reason, the United States has deployed large forces in the Caribbean region.
