The Algerian Ambassador: Relations with Egypt are a solid model of Arab brotherhood and solidarity

 Ambassador Mohamed Sufyan Barah, Algeria’s ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, confirmed that the relations between Algeria and Egypt represent a bright page in the record of the Algerian revolution, and embody the highest images of Arab solidarity and brotherhood struggle in which sacrifices were united by ties of history and common destiny.

Ambassador Mohamed Sufyan Barah explained – in a speech; On the occasion of the celebration of the sixty-first anniversary of the outbreak of the November 1 revolution, the Algerian revolution found in Egypt a warm embrace and sincere support from which it derived determination and steadfastness, and in which it found a partner who believed in the justice of its cause, pointing out that Egypt did not skimp in supporting Algeria, as it opened its doors to the freedom fighters, embraced their voices in its media platforms, and provided political and military support without hesitation or compensation, based on the firm conviction that Algeria’s liberation is part of The liberation of the entire Arab nation.

 

He said that Algeria remained loyal to Egypt after independence, like the loyalty of free people to those who shared their pain, hope, struggle and dream, so it was always in the first ranks alongside its Egyptian brothers during the wars of 1967 and 1973, stressing that the brotherhood struggle that brought the two peoples together was not a passing moment in time, but rather turned into a renewed balance of trust, integration and unity. Destiny.

 

He added that the two countries today continue to play their pivotal role as two stable pillars in the Arab and African national security system, and two harmonious voices in defense of just causes, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, which will remain the compass of positions and the measure of commitment to principles, and a symbol of unity of destiny and purity of position, as it has always been in the conscience of Algeria and Egypt. Together.

 

The Algerian ambassador indicated that relations between the two countries are witnessing a renewed movement that reflects a firm political will on the part of their leadership to consolidate strategic cooperation and expand the horizons of partnership in various fields, explaining that the visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Egypt in October 2024 and his fraternal meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, constituted a prominent milestone in this path, as it established the approach of consultation and coordination. It has established a common ambition to raise the volume of trade exchanges to five billion dollars annually.

 

Cairo is also preparing to host the ninth session of the Algerian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee during the second half of this November, in an event that embodies the depth of fraternal ties between the two countries and expresses their aspiration for a new phase of integration and understanding, which is expected to culminate in the signing of a package of agreements and memorandums of understanding and the organization of a businessmen’s forum to enhance economic and investment partnership.

He explained that Algeria today derives from the spirit of November its determination in the battle of construction and modernization, after it It has consolidated its independence through its economic sovereignty and independent national decision-making, and has made development a sustainable strategic option.

 

He pointed out that the Algerian economy has achieved, in recent years, steady growth reaching about 4% in 2024, with positive indicators to continue this trend through 2025, thanks to the policy of diversifying sources of income, expanding the industrial base, supporting manufacturing industries and renewable energies, and encouraging exports outside the sector. Fuel.

 

He added that Algeria is witnessing a remarkable advancement in the fields of education, scientific research and innovation, in addition to tangible progress in the health and infrastructure sectors, which enhances the quality of life and establishes sustainable development. Algeria is also keen to strengthen Arab and African cooperation through strategic projects such as the trans-Saharan road linking Algeria to Nigeria, which consolidates its position as a hub of communication between the Arab world and Africa.
