The Deputy Foreign Minister stresses the importance of continued cohesion of Egyptians at home and abroad

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, Ambassador Nabil Habashi, stressed the importance of continued cohesion of Egyptians at home and abroad to support the national economy and preserve Egyptian interests.
This came during a virtual meeting held by the Deputy Foreign Minister with a group of young Egyptians studying abroad in a number of countries, including France, Russia, Italy, the United Kingdom, Australia and others, members of the YENA network, which is the network dedicated to connecting young Egyptians studying abroad and includes a large number of young researchers and students. This meeting comes within the framework of the Egyptian government’s keenness to strengthen communication with its children in various countries of the world, and in light of the importance it attaches to caring for its young people abroad, linking them to their motherland, and enhancing their spirit of belonging.
Ambassador Nabil Habashi stressed during the meeting the state’s interest in its children abroad… noting the ongoing efforts that The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration is making efforts to communicate with young Egyptians abroad, listen to their needs and proposals, and work to meet them, in addition to developing new mechanisms for direct communication with them, including this meeting, as well as the cultural salon that the Ministry holds periodically.
The Deputy Foreign Minister called on young people to exercise their constitutional right and participate in shaping the future of their country by participating in the 2025 House of Representatives elections.
He reviewed the most prominent matters. The Ministry’s initiatives directed at Egyptians abroad include facilitating financial transfers and allowing the opening of bank accounts from abroad by signing the protocol for the “Open Your Account in Egypt” initiative. In cooperation with the National Bank and Banque Misr, as well as providing housing units and lands with special benefits, as well as education and insurance initiatives, stressing the state’s keenness to provide comprehensive care for its children abroad.
Ambassador Nabil Habashi was keen to listen to and respond to the inquiries and proposals of the young people participating in the meeting, noting the keenness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad to receive all the proposals and inquiries of Egyptians abroad at any time through the many communication mechanisms it provides. Participating in the meeting from the Supreme Council of Universities were Dr. Mona Hagras, Assistant Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Professor Hanaa Abdel Rahman, Director General of the General Administration for Equivalency of Academic Degrees, as well as from the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, Dr. Ahmed Al-Halafawi, Director General of the Central Administration for Entrepreneurship.
The representative of the Supreme Council of Universities responded to the many inquiries raised by young people. Students discussed the subject of equivalency procedures for their university degrees. The representative of the General Authority for Investment also reviewed the support and advice the authority provides to entrepreneurs, in addition to the steps for establishing companies and the benefits provided by the state to encourage entrepreneurs to invest in Egypt. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Minister praised the active role played by young Egyptians abroad in representing Egypt in an honorable manner, expressing his deep appreciation for the spirit of belonging and loyalty shown by these young people to Egypt.
