Dr. Mostafa Madbouly praised the advanced solutions and high-quality national products provided by the company, which contribute to supporting the comprehensive digital transformation efforts of the energy sector, and raising the efficiency of network, and ensuring the continuity of electrical supply, which strengthens Egypt’s position as a regional energy center.
At the beginning, the Prime Minister and his entourage listened to a presentation from Sebastian Reyes, Regional President of “Schneider Electric” Company. After that, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly pressed the button to open the gate of the new factory, marking the opening of the expansion work at the factory, as Engineer / Arda Chemin, Director of the “Schneider Electric” factory, indicated. In Badr City, he indicated that investments worth 8 million euros were pumped in 2023 to implement an expansion of the company’s factory in Badr City, on an area of 10,000 square metres, to produce low- and medium-voltage panels and ring feeding units (RMU), adding that the goal of these expansions is to increase production capacity by about 30%, in addition to localizing the industry and expanding the export base to regional and global markets.
The Prime Minister and his entourage inspected the expansion work at the factory and its production stages, Which included the new production line for low and medium voltage cells, and the local assembly line for speed changers with the aim of rationalizing energy and carbon emissions, in addition to models of the factory’s products ready for export to a number of countries.

The Prime Minister and his companions also inspected the training center for technicians working in product service and after-sales services, where the engineer reported: Arda Chimen said that the training center provides training programs of international quality in the various specializations needed by the factory, pointing out that these international programs have been localized in the factory The company in Egypt, instead of sending technicians and workers to receive this high-end training abroad, indicating that it is targeted during the year 2026 to train about 500 specialized engineers and technicians, in addition to providing this training to foreign companies upon request, as well as cooperation to train students of technical education schools during their years of study or after graduation, stressing in this regard that we are exporting skilled labor and talents of specialized engineers abroad.
The Prime Minister and his companions listened to a presentation on the factory’s sustainability plan, Where engineer Arda Chemin explained that the “Schneider Electric” factory Badr is the largest of its kind in the Middle East, and is considered a pioneering model in industrial innovation and environmental preservation. In this regard, he pointed out that the factory has obtained a “zero carbon emissions” certificate, as 20% of its energy needs are met through solar panels, while it relies on providing the rest on other sources of renewable energy.
He added that the factory is working to reduce the use of single-use plastic materials by replacing them with recycled containers, With the aim of reaching 50% “green materials” in its products, after it had already achieved 35%.
And about the most prominent projects of “Schneider Electric” In Egypt, he noted Sebastian Reyes, pointed out that the company, in partnership with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, contributed to the development of smart control centers in the Egyptian electricity network, within the state’s plan for digital transformation in the energy sector. To raise the efficiency of the network and support sustainability, with investments amounting to 4.6 billion pounds for the first phase, and 5 billion pounds for the second phase.
The regional president of Schneider Electric added: For the region of Northeast Africa and the Arab Levant, the implementation of the first phase of the automatic control project in Sharm El-Sheikh was completed in 2022, and the development of four other control centers in Cairo Governorate was completed, in addition to the renovation of more than 3,900 sites on the electricity distribution network, in addition to training the technical personnel of the Ministry of Electricity to ensure the efficiency and continuity of operation.
He pointed out that “Schneider Electric” company It cooperated with the Grand Egyptian Museum in designing and implementing the smart museum concept by employing its global expertise and solutions in the field of smart infrastructure management, in addition to participating in the King Khufu Ship Museum project, which won the award for the best project for smart energy solutions and energy management system in the world for the year 2023, pointing to the company’s contribution to the New Delta project by providing various electrical solutions and equipment to meet the requirements of this huge national project.
