 Counsel Ahmed Bandari, Director of the Executive Branch of the National Elections Authority, announced the start of voting operations in the first phase of the House of Representatives elections, with the votes of Egyptians abroad, noting that the first country in which voting operations began was “New Zealand.” This is at exactly nine o’clock in the morning according to its local time, which corresponds to ten o’clock in the evening today.  Counsel Ahmed Bandari said that Egyptians voting abroad in the first phase of the parliamentary elections include 139 electoral headquarters in 117 countries around the world.

 Counsel Bandari expressed the National Elections Authority’s appreciation for the ongoing great level of cooperation between the authority and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the continuous coordination between them, in order to ensure that the electoral process emerges in a way that befits Egypt’s status, noting that all preparations have been made to receive the electorate who wish to vote. Casting their votes abroad.

 He added that the National Elections Authority will inform public opinion of the voting developments abroad, through 3 press conferences that it will hold over the voting days, which will include interviews via live broadcast via video conference technology with the heads of Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad, including ambassadors and consuls, as they are the ones directly supervising the electoral process under the umbrella of the National Authority.  He explained that the electoral headquarters inside the Egyptian embassies and consulates will open their doors successively at exactly nine o’clock in the morning according to the local time of each country separately, in order to receive the electorate who wish to cast their votes and whose place of residence is confirmed to be among the voters included in the ballot in its first phase, which includes 14 governorates: Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, and Al-Wadi. El Jadid, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea, Alexandria, Beheira, and Marsa Matrouh.
