The Lebanese President: Israel’s attacks in the south are a complete crime

Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun considered that what Israel did today in southern Lebanon represents a “full-fledged crime,” not only in accordance with international humanitarian law, which criminalizes targeting, intimidating, and forcing civilians to flee, but also a “heinous political crime.”

Aoun said, according to what the Lebanese Information Agency reported on Thursday: “ The more Lebanon expressed its openness to peaceful negotiations to resolve the outstanding issues with Israel, the more the latter escalated its attacks on Lebanese sovereignty, boasting of its violation of Security Council Resolution 1701 and the Cessation of Hostilities Understanding. “Both countries,” stressing that continued Israeli practices confirm the absence of desire for peace and defiance of international resolutions.
