A campaign to vaccinate livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and the Rift Valley in Beni Suef

Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beti Suef, followed the progress of work in the third national campaign to vaccinate livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever in the villages and centers of Beni Suef, which is implemented by the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine, within the plan of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, to conduct vaccination in veterinary units and departments in all centers and cities of the governorate.
This came during his discussion of the report presented by Dr. Ahmed El-Gebali, Director General of Medicine. The veterinarian indicated that the total that has been vaccinated – since the launch of the campaign on October 25 last year – has reached 44,158 heads of cows, buffaloes and sheep, while the vaccination work continues according to the specified schedule to cover the target in all villages of the governorate centers.
The governor stressed the importance of achieving the target of the national campaigns to vaccinate livestock implemented by the General Authority for Veterinary Services, while mobilizing all civil society efforts alongside official efforts and educating citizens and livestock owners. The importance of vaccination in protecting and preserving animals and eliminating diseases and epidemics that affect livestock, stressing that this comes within the framework of the state’s plan to advance the sector and support all its components, and that efforts should be focused on supporting small livestock breeders in parallel with supporting investment in this sector.
