"Ethiopian": There are no problems with Egyptians voting in the 2025 House of Representatives elections abroad

Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad, confirmed that the embassies have been supported with all human and technical capabilities to ensure that the electoral process for the first phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections runs smoothly.
The Deputy Foreign Minister said, in statements to “Extra News”, that there are no problems so far in the conduct of the House of Representatives elections. Representatives in Egypt’s embassies abroad, pointing to the heavy turnout in the embassies of some Arab countries in the context of the keenness of Egyptians abroad to participate in the constitutional entitlement.
The National Elections Authority had confirmed, in its Resolution No. 56 of 2025, that every Egyptian residing abroad has the right to cast his vote in the 2025 House of Representatives elections, provided that his name is registered in the voter database, and that he holds a national ID card or a valid passport that includes the national ID. The voting process is via direct public secret ballot at the headquarters of consulates and embassies or any other headquarters determined by the Authority in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The process is supervised by committees composed of members of the diplomatic and consular corps, with the assistance of secretaries and workers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Voting in the 2025 House of Representatives elections begins from 9 am to 9 pm local time, with an hour of rest determined by the committee to ensure that the electoral process proceeds regularly, and in the event that there are voters who did not cast their votes at the end of the time, Voting continues until the votes are cast.
Each candidate or list representative can appoint a representative in every electoral committee abroad, provided that he is registered in the voter database, and informs the authority of the names of his representatives two days before the start of voting.
In a related context, Hazem Al-Bandari, head of the Central Operations Room of the National Elections Authority, announced that 3 daily press conferences will be held for the room during the voting days in the first phase of the House of Representatives elections to follow up on Egyptians voting abroad in the elections. Representatives.
Al-Bandari said that the dates of these conferences will be at ten in the morning, four in the afternoon, and seven in the evening, to inform public opinion about the details of the electoral process, the opening of committees in 139 electoral headquarters in 117 countries, and to follow up on developments in the progress of the electoral process with the heads and members of the electoral committees.
