Egyptian Ambassador to Beirut: Distinguished participation of Egyptians in the parliamentary elections thanks to coordination with the Lebanese authorities

Egypt’s ambassador to Lebanon, Ambassador Alaa Moussa, confirmed that the Egyptians showed distinguished participation in the 2025 House of Representatives elections, noting that coordination with the Lebanese authorities facilitated voters’ access to the embassy headquarters and casting their votes.

Moussa said – in a phone call to Channel (1) of Egyptian TV, today, Saturday – that the voting process began yesterday, Friday, in a good and smooth manner after extensive preparations that took place during the past weeks, noting that the turnout was limited. In the early hours, since Friday is considered an official working day in Lebanon, but it gradually increased in the afternoon and later periods.

He added that today – which is an official holiday – witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of voters, expecting more arrivals until the committee closes, explaining that the National Elections Authority allowed everyone inside the electoral committee campus to cast their vote even after nine o’clock in the evening.

Moussa indicated that the number of Egyptians in Lebanon is several thousand distributed in different parts of the country, He stressed that the process of moving to the embassy headquarters is carried out easily thanks to the close cooperation with the Lebanese authorities.

He thanked the members of the Egyptian community in Lebanon for their active participation, praising their insistence on exercising their constitutional right, stressing that their continued turnout at the ballot boxes for various national entitlements reflects their awareness and belief in the importance of their voice in supporting the nation’s progress.
