Prime Minister: Egypt is witnessing an unprecedented renaissance in the fields of local manufacturing and transportation infrastructure

Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, confirmed that the International Exhibition for Intelligent Transport, Logistics and Industry – which is held annually, under the generous patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi – comes at a very important time. The Egyptian state is witnessing an unprecedented renaissance in the fields of local manufacturing and transportation infrastructure, especially since the industrial sector is one of the promising sectors that the state is counting on, along with a number of other important sectors. Together, these sectors will lead the growth engine and push the national economy to deeper and more developed horizons, while improving various economic indicators, and contributing to attracting more massive investments during this period.

 

This came during the opening of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, accompanied by Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, the sixth session of the international exhibition and conference for smart transportation, logistics and industry “TransMEA2025”, which It is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, under the slogan “Industry and transport together to achieve sustainable development.”

The opening was attended by a large number of ministers and ministers of transport and industry from Arab, African and European countries, in addition to many ambassadors from various countries of the world, and heads of major international and local companies specialized in the fields of transport and industry. The exhibition enjoys wide global participation from major international and local specialized companies, with 500 international companies from 30 countries participating in its session this year.

The Prime Minister said: There is no doubt that the industry has become a major focus for increasing growth rates, deepening local manufacturing, achieving self-sufficiency, and raising the competitiveness of Egyptian exports. At the same time, the transportation system is represented by its various sectors of environmentally friendly, sustainable green transportation, railways, roads, bridges, sea, land and dry ports, logistics areas and river transport. A major artery that supports this renaissance, and contributes to facilitating the movement of trade and investment.

Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, confirmed that the exhibition comes in this session under the slogan “Transport and industry together to achieve sustainable development.” It also comes within the framework of the directives of Mr. President and the interest of the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministries of Transport and Industry, in supporting and developing transportation means and services, deepening the local manufacturing sector, and maximizing Egyptian industry. To meet local needs in various sectors and reduce imports from abroad, and then go to export abroad and bring in hard currencies and support the national income and the Egyptian economy.

He pointed out that the exhibition has become – thanks to the successes of previous sessions under the patronage of the President – a global platform that brings together ministries of transport, authorities and leaders of local and international companies specialized in various fields of transport and implementing huge projects in this field, which gives great momentum to the exhibition, and provides favorable opportunities to exchange opinions and review the tremendous developments. And the successive changes in technology in various industries. In this context, the Ministry of Transport cooperates with a group of major international companies to invest in the field of manufacturing means of railway transportation, with the aim of providing hard currency, transferring expertise to Egyptian workers, and exporting the surplus abroad.
