The Green Summit Abu Dhabi Festival confirms the UAE’s role as a global center for innovation and sustainability

The Green Summit Festival – Abu Dhabi “GPF GLOBAL”, the leading European platform in the field of sustainability, innovation and economic transformation, was recently concluded in Abu Dhabi, which was held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre. The festival, which was held for the first time in the Austrian capital, Vienna, in 2022 – and after successful sessions in Vienna and Belgrade – represents a prominent achievement in the process of international expansion, as it was held for the first time in the Middle East region in the capital, Abu Dhabi, which confirms the growing role of the UAE as a global center for innovation and sustainability.
Mohammed Sulaiman Al Fahim, co-founder of the Green Summit Festival “GPF GLOBAL”, said in the opening speech of the festival: “We welcome their Highnesses, Excellencies and distinguished guests participating in the event, and we are proud to organize and hold it in the capital, Abu Dhabi, as the UAE is the place that makes real change towards a more sustainable future.”
Al Fahim pointed out the great diversity among the attendees, saying that the festival attracts guests from different parts of the world, including Uganda, China, Costa Rica, Austria, and Lebanon, stressing that the event is completely carbon neutral after compensating for all emissions resulting from the attendees’ participation.
Al Fahim added: “We were able to gather this elite of leaders and experts because we believe that the Emirates, and specifically Abu Dhabi, is the place where real change begins and happens quickly. We are not satisfied with talking, but rather we work under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, – may God protect him – who leads with an ambitious vision towards achieving climate neutrality by 2050, and reducing carbon emissions by 40% by 2030, and the Emirates was the first country In the Middle East, it declares its commitment to the goal of zero neutrality.”
Al Fahim explained that the concept of sustainability is not limited to the environmental aspect only, but is based on three main pillars: environment, economy, and society, noting that the festival witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation agreements between European and Emirati companies, with the aim of strengthening economic partnerships, creating job opportunities, empowering communities, and ensuring a positive environmental impact for future generations.
