Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, received his Indian counterpart Jagat Prakash Nadda, Minister of Health, Chemicals and Fertilizers, to enhance cooperation in the fields of health care, most notably the exchange of experiences in the pharmaceutical industry and the discovery of joint investment opportunities between the two countries.

 

The meeting came on the sidelines of preparations for the World Conference on Population, Health and Development in its third edition 2025, which will be held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during the period From November 12 to 15, 2025, at the St. Regis Hotel in the New Administrative Capital, under the slogan “Empowering Individuals… Promoting Progress… Providing Opportunities”.

 

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the Egyptian Minister began the meeting by emphasizing the interest of the political leadership in the health file, especially the pharmaceutical industry and expanding the health investment environment in cooperation with leading countries, to enhance the efficiency and quality of the Egyptian market and empower it. From competing globally.

 

He added that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed Egypt’s achievements in the pharmaceutical industry, stressing that it possesses distinguished cadres and skills, and the two sides discussed strengthening partnerships for the manufacture of medicines and health care, and exploring joint projects between Egyptian and Indian pharmaceutical companies, especially in the production of oncology medicines, with the aim of transferring technology and localizing the manufacture of high-tech medicines.

 

He continued that the meeting dealt with encouraging health investment through Strategic agreements in the production of vaccines, oncology drugs and biological preparations, with technology transfer and capacity building through specialized training programs and infrastructure development.

 

He noted the discussion of mechanisms for facilitating pharmaceutical investment and facilitating registration, import and export procedures, with the two ministers agreeing on the importance of coordination between the public and private sectors, civil society and pharmaceutical and vaccine companies in the two countries to unify efforts.
