The Minister of Health discusses cooperation mechanisms in treating rare diseases with pharmaceutical companies and the Pharmaceutical City
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, received today, Tuesday, representatives of an Italian pharmaceutical company, the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, and a national company, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. To discuss mechanisms for joint cooperation in the field of treating rare diseases.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesman, explained that the Minister began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, praising everyone’s keenness to enhance cooperation in this vital field, which contributes to improving the services provided to patients, facilitating diagnostic procedures and obtaining treatment, and raising the level of public health for citizens.
The spokesman added that the meeting discussed Discussing the mechanisms for obtaining specialized medicines for rare diseases from the Italian company and registering them in Egypt, within the framework of the state’s efforts to develop care for patients with rare diseases, by strengthening health care systems, encouraging scientific research, and ensuring equitable access to diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed the importance of transferring the technology of manufacturing these medicines to Egypt to localize local production, in addition to strengthening awareness campaigns and training specialized medical personnel to build national capabilities in this field. Field.
