Al-Shorbagy: The national press is the eye of the citizen and its mission is to provide a comprehensive picture of all stages of the elections

The head of the National Press Authority, Eng. Abdel Sadiq El-Shorbagy, praised the organizational atmosphere that prevailed in the electoral process in all the electoral committees since the first hours of the voting process, and it is a reflection of the state’s keenness to establish the foundations of the constitution and democracy and advance political life, and the integration of state institutions in the process of organizing the House of Representatives to strengthen and enrich parliamentary and legislative life in Egypt.
Al-Shorbagy pointed out that the national press is the eye of the citizen, Our responsibility requires presenting a comprehensive, balanced and transparent picture of all stages of the elections, from propaganda to announcing the results, from the follow-up room that was formed at the National Press Authority and is in permanent session to follow up on press coverage of the electoral process and voting procedures, and to facilitate journalists’ follow-up of the elections and overcome any obstacles they may face.
Shorbagy said after casting his vote at the National School In Giza, the Commission places at the top of its priorities developing awareness among citizens of the importance of participating in choosing their representatives, through educational media content that explains the importance of the House of Representatives and its legislative and oversight role.
Al-Shorbagy also called on all journalists to adhere to professional ethics, and to display a spirit of national responsibility, to provide an honorable model for media coverage that serves the public interest and supports the democratic process in the country.
