The Minister of Health meets with Saudi officials to enhance the exchange of experiences in digital transformation and health policies

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, met with Dr. Nouf Soliman, Secretary-General of the Ministerial Committee for “Health in All Policies” In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the first day of the third edition of the “World Conference on Population, Health and Development 2025”, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the period from November 12 to 15, under the slogan “Empowering individuals… promoting progress… creating opportunities”.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in joint health projects, and integrating health considerations in various sectors. governmental; To improve public health indicators and achieve sustainable development goals.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the meeting dealt with following up on developments in previous cooperation between the two countries, and providing the necessary support for the success of joint projects and the sustainability of distinguished bilateral relations.
He added that the two sides discussed the application of the “Health in All Policies” approach. And the mechanisms for its implementation, as the Minister reviewed the pioneering Egyptian experience in multi-sectoral coordination within the “Decent Life” framework. And presidential initiatives such as “100 Million Health”, with the exchange of lessons learned.
They also discussed preparing a joint Arab framework for this approach, and exchanging technical expertise between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The speaker referred to discussing cooperation in developing digital health services, including electronic medical records and linking databases, while reviewing the experiences of both sides in the health insurance system.
The Minister reviewed the Egyptian experience in implementing comprehensive health insurance and initiatives supporting comprehensive health coverage, and discussed the exchange of experiences in health financing, expanding insurance coverage, and developing analytical tools to measure the efficiency of programs and ensure their financial sustainability.
The meeting touched on enhancing cooperation in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries; To localize the pharmaceutical industry in the Arab world and achieve pharmaceutical security, while examining investment opportunities in medicine, medical supplies, and vaccines, and exchanging supervisory and regulatory experiences and mutual dependence.
The two sides discussed supporting the partnership between the public and private sectors, exchanging regulatory experiences, and cooperating in the nutrition file to provide healthy dietary patterns.
In conclusion, they agreed to form joint technical working groups to exchange experiences in priority areas, and follow up on the implementation Outcomes of the meeting.
