Al-Azhar University: A medical convoy in Mit Salsil, Dakahlia Governorate

The College of Medicine for Girls in Damietta, affiliated with Al-Azhar University, proceeded with the support and guidance of Dr. Essam Taman, Dean of the College, in cooperation with the College of Medicine for Girls in Cairo, under the supervision of Dr. Sabila Gomaa, Dean of the College, and in coordination with the Center for International Excellence and Institutional Development at the university headed by Dr. Yasser Helmy; A comprehensive medical convoy to the city of Mit Salsil in Dakahlia Governorate, under the supervision and management of Dr. Sanaa Ahmed, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology and Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine for Girls in New Damietta, Director of the Continuing Support and Humanitarian Relief Unit at the Center for International Excellence.
This is within the framework of the keenness of the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Foundation as a mosque and university, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and His Eminence Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, and with the support and care of His Eminence Dr. Salama Gomaa. Dawoud, President of the University, and Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research and General Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, to support the efforts of the Egyptian state towards implementing the goals of sustainable development and achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq explained that the medical convoy came in support of the presidential initiative (Bedaya) for Human Building, noting that it included many medical specialties, pointing out that Dr. Sabila Gomaa participated in the convoy. Mousa, Dr. Issam Taman, Dr. Sanaa Ahmed, and Dr. Ihab Abdo, Executive Director of Al Zahraa University Hospital, in addition to a group of distinguished doctors in various medical fields (rheumatology and immunology – internal medicine and digestive system – surgery and vascular surgery – urology – ear, nose and throat – children – cardiovascular and critical care care – orthopedics).
Dr. Issam Taman explained. The convoy witnessed a large turnout of citizens, which strengthens the status of the medical sector at Al-Azhar University as the Kaaba of knowledge and the destination of scholars, noting that the convoy carried out medical examinations on hundreds of citizens and dispensed medicines to them for free, in addition to transferring a number of cases that require surgical operations to Al-Azhar University Hospital in Damietta under the supervision of the Faculty of Women’s Medicine.
