"DB World" And initiative "Rise" You are hosting "AI Day World Summit" In Dubai

Dubai, 14 November / WAM / DP World, in cooperation with the RISE Initiative for Responsible Artificial Intelligence for Social Empowerment and Education, affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), announced the hosting of the “World Summit on Artificial Intelligence Day” in Dubai.

According to a press release issued today by the group, the summit brings together global leaders and experts in education and policy makers in this field, to discuss ways to employ artificial intelligence technologies in developing education and promoting economic growth.

The World AI Day Summit will be held in Expo City Dubai on November 18 and 19, and represents the first international edition of the AI ​​Day program of the RISE Initiative.

The program aims to enable teachers and students around the world to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a future based on artificial intelligence.

The institute’s “RISE” initiative, supported by investments amounting to millions of dollars from the “DB World” group, comes within the framework of an ambitious plan that aims to enable 250,000 teachers and 6 million students globally to learn about the basics of artificial intelligence during the next twelve months.

Over two days, the summit will witness keynote speeches, ministerial sessions, and interactive workshops, presented by experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the World Bank, and the ministries of education in Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Participating in the summit will be Professor Cynthia Breazeale, Director of the RISE Initiative and one of the most prominent figures on Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the field of artificial intelligence, and Professor Eric Kloepfer, Director of the Schiller Program for Teacher Education and the Education Arcade initiative at the institute. The two speakers will deliver two keynote speeches that highlight ways to use artificial intelligence responsibly to enhance the quality of education and support global economic growth.

His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of DP World Group, said on this occasion that education and innovation are fundamental drivers of progress, and the UAE has been and continues to be a pioneer in harnessing technology as a force for good, and this partnership embodies the shared commitment to building a smarter and more inclusive future for the entire world.

He added that by cooperating with the MIT “RISE” initiative in hosting the World AI Day Summit in Dubai, we are investing not only in technology, but also in people, by enabling students and teachers everywhere to possess the tools and knowledge that qualify them to thrive in the age of artificial intelligence.

The summit addresses a number of main topics, including introducing the field of artificial intelligence, designing educational policies, qualifying teachers, and developing school curricula, in addition to reviewing the global impact of artificial intelligence technologies on future education and skills systems.

The sessions also highlight the role of technology in empowering teachers and students alike, enhancing the quality of education and sustaining learning opportunities in the digital age.

The World Bank will also present its vision on ways to enhance comprehensive artificial intelligence in the fields of education and economic development, with the participation of ministers from the UAE, Rwanda, Latvia, Colombia, and Kazakhstan, along with a number of other countries, where participants will review their national strategies to accelerate the adoption of responsible artificial intelligence in education, and its role in supporting sustainable development and global economic growth.

The Global Artificial Intelligence Day Summit comes within DP World’s commitment to supporting innovation and education, and consolidating its role in empowering future generations.

Last year, the group launched the Global Education Platform, with an investment worth US$35 million, with the aim of reaching 1.5 million students around the world by 2030.

The platform provides more than 15 digital resources and free online educational courses, focusing on the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, in addition to green skills, which include the knowledge, capabilities, and values ​​necessary to develop and support a sustainable and environmentally responsible economy, logistics services, and internationally recognized certificates, which contribute to providing young people with the skills necessary to succeed in future sectors.
