The head of health care discusses the development of advanced cardiac catheters for comprehensive health insurance patients

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, met with Dr. Tamer Hassan, Regional Director of an international company for Egypt, North and West Africa, at the Authority’s main headquarters in the New Capital.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to renew and expand the horizons of cooperation and strategic partnership between the Authority and the leading company in medical technology, most notably cooperation to develop advanced cardiac catheterization services for comprehensive health insurance patients, and establish new surgical centers of excellence. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki stressed that the cooperation with the company is considered one of the distinguished models of international partnerships that contribute to supporting the Authority’s strategy to improve the level of health services, noting the importance of expanding this cooperation to include more specialized areas in modern medicine.

Al-Sabki added that the Authority values the existing cooperation with the company in developing the skills of medical personnel in the field of cardiovascular diseases, stressing that expanding the areas of partnership to qualify the Authority’s doctors as certified installers was discussed. for transcatheter valves (TAVI), and disseminating this advanced technology in the governorates of the comprehensive health insurance system, within the framework of the “Medtronic TAVI Team Approach” program. To build qualified medical personnel in accordance with the latest international standards.

The Chairman of the Health Care Authority continued: Cooperation with the company also includes working to introduce robotic surgery services within the Authority’s system, as it represents a qualitative shift in the accuracy of surgical operations and improving their results, in addition to launching an integrated program to exchange experiences globally, which aims to disseminate the latest advanced medical practices and keep pace with technological developments in the field of health care worldwide.

Al-Subki explained that during the meeting, a roadmap for establishing integrated centers of excellence was discussed. For neurosurgery in comprehensive health insurance governorates, it includes integrating the latest surgical navigation systems and applying deep brain stimulation (DBS) technology to treat neurological disorders, achieving a qualitative leap in this precise specialty within the Authority’s facilities.

The Chairman of the Health Care Authority confirmed that it was agreed to sign a new cooperation protocol between the General Authority for Health Care and the company within the activities of the Authority’s sixth annual forum, with the aim of expanding future partnership horizons and enhancing investment in the human element, training and research, as they are essential pillars for improving the patient experience and consolidating the Authority’s leadership. Regionally and internationally.

For his part, Dr. Tamer Hassan, the company’s regional director, expressed his pride in cooperating with the General Authority for Health Care, stressing the company’s pride in building a sustainable strategic partnership with the Authority, and its role in supporting the development of medical personnel and applying the latest technical solutions in Egypt, in a way that enhances the quality of health services provided to patients.
