Reda Okasha: Inauguration of the Association for the Preservation of Arab Women’s Rights in the European Union

Rida Okasha, President of the “Preserving Arab Women’s Rights” Association, announced the official launch of the association based in the European Union, stressing that the association comes in response to the urgent need for an entity that defends the rights of Arab women residing in European countries, and works to enhance their effective integration while preserving their cultural identity.

 

Okasha said, The association will serve as a vital platform that works to provide legal and social support to Arab women in Europe, especially in the face of challenges related to integration or discrimination. Our goal is not only to protect, but to empower Arab women to be an active and influential element in their new societies. He explained that the association will work on legal support, providing advice, and defending women’s rights in family and work issues, as well as organizing training and awareness programs to enhance cultural and legal awareness in the European environment, in addition to creating a safe space that combines the requirements of European life and respect for Arab culture. He called on all European and Arab institutions and civil society to cooperate to support the association’s efforts in achieving its noble mission, stressing that immediately after the association’s inauguration, it will organize a new international conference in the Greek capital, Athens, aiming to enhance the status of Arab women and defend their rights at the Arab and European levels.

He noted that this inauguration comes as an extension of an idea launched during his participation in the “Inspiration Makers” conference. In Egypt, where his efforts received wide attention, it stressed the importance of creating an effective platform that empowers Arab women and links common issues inside and outside the Arab world.

He pointed out that the inauguration of this great event in Athens represents a qualitative step towards expanding the scope of institutional work for Arab women, and stresses that her message will remain strongly present in various international forums, especially in the European Union, anticipating that the upcoming conference in Athens will constitute a prominent turning point in the process of defending Arab women’s rights, and an important occasion. To pool efforts and expertise to serve this noble humanitarian cause.
