Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip: Great Egyptian efforts to contain the repercussions of the rain wave
The spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal, confirmed that there are major Egyptian efforts to try to contain the repercussions of the rain wave, by providing logistical and relief support, and working to provide urgent solutions for those affected within the Strip.
The spokesman said, in statements to the “Cairo News” channel, that the Israeli occupation destroyed most of the basic infrastructure, which made the Gaza Strip unable to confront the harsh weather conditions, adding that the sewage networks, roads and vital facilities were damaged. It exacerbated the daily suffering of the population.
He explained that the violent rains caused the destruction of thousands of tents sheltering the displaced, which led to the displacement of more families and deprived them of temporary shelter places during the extreme cold.
